Year 4
Hello from 4R
Term 3 is upon us, and the Year 4s are excited for a busy term of activities, as well as attending camp in Week 7. The Olympics is right around the corner, and all Year 4 classes will be participating in their own mini events using potatoes as their athletes. Students will have the opportunity to create an athlete profile, design a new Olympic sport, and compete to earn medals.
In addition, 4R have also been reading the book titled My Place by Nadia Wheatley, which is set in the inner suburbs of Sydney. It travels “back in time” to show the different people who have lived in the area over the period of 200 years. Students have enjoyed studying the different characters, as well as watching the short episodes to compare and contrast the episode to the written text. They have shown great interest in how people lived all those years ago, and have benefited from participating in meaningful discussions with one another. Students were given the task of drawing their own communities, they looked amazing.
It has been a great start to the term!
