Principal's News
Prayer:
Lord God, our Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the opportunity for our sportspeople to gather together this in competition. We ask that all of those involved may conduct themselves in a God-pleasing manner and show good sportsmanship despite the outcome.
Lord, we thank you for the gifts and abilities you have blessed these athletes with, and we pray that they may use them to glorify You. We ask that all involved in the Olympic games may be kept free from injuries and that You will be with them throughout the competition.
All this we pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dear Families,
I am sure many of you have been watching the Olympic games and have been able to share in the joy that success can bring for so many athletes and of course their families. We also know that for every winning athlete there are those who do not always achieve what they may have trained so hard for. What we do see and learn, however, is that success is not always about winning gold and for most of these athletes it is just about achieving their personal best. I hope each of our children, with the help of parents and teachers, can learn much from these sports people so that they too can understand that not everything they do will work out how they had hoped and that they will be able to bounce back, try again and be happy with their achievements knowing they have at least tried their best.
We are almost at the halfway mark of the term and so much of the learning our children are doing should be providing great challenges for them to consolidate the skills they already have and to develop new skills and knowledge across the curriculum. I know that Ms Stanton is working hard with our children in preparation for the school concert and perhaps your child is already sharing news about the performance. For many of them the concert provides opportunities that they may not always have in their classroom learning and through this they are able to develop their creative and performing talents.
Today Mr Ru, Bernadette and Ms Belinda took our amazing school choir to the BOITE performance and I am sure they would have made us all feel extremely proud. No doubt next week's newsletter will cover the performance and for all those families with children in the choir I am sure you will all have heard about it this evening.
Farewell Mrs Boffa
Thank you to all those who were able to join us for Mrs Boffa's farewell assembly and aftenoon tea last Friday. It was such a lovely way to say thank you to an amazing person who has done so much for so many families at Trinity. Mrs Boffa called me the following day to say thanks and to let me know she had read every card written to her and was truly touched by the many beautiful messages she was given. Thanks again to all those parents who helped in organising things for the afternoon tea, flowers, gift and speeches.
There are many important events throughout the term so please keep an eye on the school calendar.
