New Staff
Please help us welcome the following staff into our College community
Gerhard Smit
Gerhard has joined Endeavour as a new Health and Physical Education Teacher.
Only 12 weeks ago, Gerhard formally finished his Masters in Education and pounced at the opportunity to work as a graduate teacher here at Endeavour. Previously Gerhard has worked as an OSHC Educator at Trinity College, along with various other jobs to help support his studies.
A fun fact about Gerhard is, he was born in South Africa and lived there for seven years prior to moving to Australia. His family
part-owned a large farm that housed many different species of animals, including giraffe's, zebra's and water buffalo.
Michelle Stavrou
Michelle joined our community at the beginning of the year, working casually in
administration support both at Front Reception and Student Services. Fast forward to Semester Two and Michelle has officially accepted the role of Student Services Coordinator.
Michelle has a background in nursing and has worked in both early childhood education and customer service.
Michelle and her husband have four children: three daughters and one son. A mini fox terrier named Nya completes her family.
Away from work Michelle enjoys travelling, coffee dates and music, particularly Michael Bublé and Elvis. She also sews and crochets.
Michelle is very much looking forward to getting to know all of our students and families.
Simion Mutai
Simion joins our College Ministry Team in the new role of Chaplain. Simion moved to Australia in 2015 accepting the role of Minister within the Broome diocese, working as a parish priest of Kalumburu Mission and Halls Creek, East Kimberley. Here ministry involved all aspects of community life and preaching the word to different communities. Simion was born in Baraton, a small village approximately 350kms west of Nairobi, Kenya.
In 2008 he became an ordained priest after eight years of study. In Kenya, Simion worked as a youth chaplain, director of juniorate, parish priest across several parishes and even volunteered as a minister in Kenya's second largest refugee camp.
Simion has a 9 month old daughter and enjoys watching soccer (Manchester United), AFL (Eagles - that's the WA influence!), as well as reading and writing in his spare time.
Since living in Australia, Simion has also discovered his love of fishing.
Simion is excited to be part of the Endeavour community and is very much looking forward to getting to know staff and students alike.
