Vision for Learners
Powerful Messaging about Online Safety
Last term the Carly Ryan Foundation (CRF) presented some well-timed and well-received messages about online safety to our Year 7 cohort.
The CRF is a trusted online safety program provider under the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and delivers online safety and healthy relationship seminars to students and parents. The organisation also provides a range of services and support in the areas of internet safety and crime, cyberbullying, connection to resources and counselling, and contributing to law and policy reform.
-What we do|The Carly Ryan Foundation
While some of the information shared about the dangers children and young people face online was confronting, it was a powerful message for our Year 7s, many of whom are active participants in the social media space.
As parents and caregivers, you can keep the conversation going at home by arming yourselves with the research, knowing the facts and understanding the reality many of our children and young people experience and witness when they are online. What we all want is for our kids to be safe.
‘Our vision is to create a positive experience online for all children, teens and young adults.’ -Sonya Ryan
The CRF has made the resources below available for parents who are interested in knowing more.

Year 12 Learning Conversations and SATAC Information Session: Monday, 5 August
Year 12 Academic reports have been uploaded to TASS Parent Lounge and Student Café and awards for Academic Excellence in Achievement and Application have been presented.
A reminder that on Monday, 5 August
Year 12 Learning Conversations have been scheduled 3.30pm-7.30pm.
Parents are encouraged to make a booking to meet with Year 12 subject teachers as a way of supporting their child achieve their best as final assessment dates draw nearer. It is a good time to discuss with teachers more specific details about a student's level of application and achievement so far and for teachers to offer advice on ways to finish the year well as we move into the term of teaching.
It is expected that Year 12 students will attend this evening with their parents/caregivers.
Learning Conversations will take place spread throughout the Senior Years Centre.
Maps will be displayed at both entrances and throughout the Centre.
Should parents/caregivers and students be unable to attend on this night, they are encouraged to either email or call the subject teachers should they have any questions.
The connected event to this evening is the SATAC Information Session. This session will occur on site in the upstairs Middle Years' Space and will run from 6:00pm- 6.30pm.
All Year 12 families are encouraged to attend to hear about the application processes for TAFE and University courses for 2025.
We look forward to connecting with families on this evening. Key senior staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.
