Ministry
Have you ever been caught doing the wrong thing – and been forgiven for it, and not ever had it held against you or brought up in order to shame you or manipulate you?
Have you ever had someone give you a gift – not through you deserving it, but rather because they were generous, kind, and had genuinely thought of you?
Have you ever had someone treat you so well, be so kind to you, consistently throughout your relationship with them, that you just knew that they thought highly of you – even if you didn’t think highly of yourself?
If you have had these things happen in your life, you know how freeing they are. You know how much life these things give you. They create energy, hope, optimism and creativity in you.
If you have these things happen, you know that they are a gift. You feel honoured, humbled, and grateful. When we truly experience these things, we often feel we don’t deserve them. Yet they are presented to us because of love.
And when they happen, we tell others about them – when and how they happened, what happened before, what happened after, and how they changed us.
This is why, for this term, our theme is Stories of Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness.
At Endeavour, we are learning about these stories – but we also seek to live it out.
This is for a number of reasons, but I’ll list just three:
- We seek to live this way because God has first extended Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness to us in Jesus.
- We seek to live this way because of the positive impact it has on our community – both staff and students.
- We seek to live this way because when students experience Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness, they also perform better.
All three of the above reasons are critically important to who we are and what we do as a Christian, Lutheran School.
The experience of Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness, from both God and people, has transformed my life. It inspires me, motivates me, and changes me into all I am and can be.
It is our prayer that our staff, students, and each member of our community – including and especially you – would experience Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness in their lives: First from God, and also from people.
God bless.
