Visual Arts
Welcome to term 3's Visual Arts update to share what our students are exploring in their classes. Here’s a snapshot of our current focus areas across the school.
Prep: Exploring the Color Wheel Our Prep students are diving into the vibrant world of colour! They’re learning about primary and secondary colours by creating their very own colour wheels. This hands-on activity helps them understand how colours mix and interact, laying a foundation for their future artistic endeavors.
Grades 1/2: Focusing on Lines In Grades 1 and 2, students are discovering the endless possibilities of lines. From straight and curved to zigzag and spiral, they’re experimenting with different types of lines to create dynamic and expressive artwork.
Grades 3-6: Mastering Zentangling Students in Grades 3 through 6 are embracing the intricate world of Zentangling. This technique involves creating detailed, structured patterns and designs, allowing them to practice mindfulness and creativity. It’s a fantastic way for them to develop their own unique artistic style while improving their focus and patience.
