Prep
Welcome Back
We trust you had a lovely break and are back into the swing of school again. We have been blown away by how responsible the students have been since returning to school. Great work preps!
Reading
We have begun our first Author Study - Bob Graham. We have been exploring some of his books and have been practising making text-to-self and text-to-text connections. It has been wonderful to see our students refining their ability to make predictions before, during and after reading.
Writing
We have been writing Personal Memory Stories. Students have brainstormed memories that are important to them. For example, going to Roller Way, Christmas, Birthdays, going to the beach, going to the shops and plenty more. We have added in key terms likes - first, next, then and last. We have also challenged the students to include details about the character's actions and feelings toward events. Check out some of our writing below!
Maths
We have been learning about teen numbers (11-20). Students have been practising ordering numbers, making numbers and writing numbers. Students have been answering questions such as:
Farmer Sam looked into the paddock. He saw so many legs. He remembered it was less than 20, but more than 10. How many legs did Framer Sam see?

Humanities
This semester, we are learning about Personal and Family Histories. Students have been sharing about their families and they've even had a go at creating their family trees. Check out some of our family trees below!
100 Days of Prep!
Thank you for celebrating with us on Wednesday afternoon. What a magnificent achievement! It was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents pop into the classroom and spend some time with our Preps! We had such a fun-filled day and I think it is safe to say that these Prep Teachers love an excuse to dress up!

Responsible Pet Ownership Program
Students learnt about dog safety with the help of a chocolate labrador named 'Wilfred'. We learned a range of things such as:
- how can you tell if a dog is happy, frightened or angry and what do to
- a safe way to approach and greet a dog
- what to do if approached by an unknown or aggressive dog
