The ARACY Nest Framework provides a helpful way to think about the wellbeing of children and young people across six key domains. As a College we are committed to supporting these areas in our students’ lives, and we know that when school and home work together, this support is even more powerful. Below are some practical ways families can help foster each domain at home.
Valued, Loved and Safe
Children thrive when they feel secure, noticed and cared for. At home, this is reinforced by regular check-ins, calm and predictable family routines, and open conversations about their day, friendships and emotions. Knowing that someone is listening without judgment makes a big difference.
Identity and Culture
A strong sense of identity supports confidence and self-worth. Parents can encourage this by celebrating family heritage and traditions, talking about values and beliefs, and helping young people understand that who they are is to be welcomed and respected. When children feel proud of who they are, their sense of belonging strengthens.
Healthy
Physical, emotional and mental health are vital to wellbeing. Families can support this through nutritious meals, regular sleep, time away from screens, and encouraging physical activity. Parents can also model emotional regulation by talking through challenges and demonstrating healthy coping strategies.
Material Basics
Young people learn best when their essential needs are met. Families contribute to this by helping students come to school equipped with what they need, supporting attendance and ensuring consistency in their daily routines. If ever there are challenges, please know that the College is here to help and connect families with assistance when needed.
Learning
Parents have enormous influence on a child’s attitude toward learning. Showing curiosity about what your child is studying, helping them establish study habits and encouraging persistence when things are difficult reinforces the belief that learning matters and that growth comes through effort.
Participating
Young people feel empowered when they can contribute and be heard. Families can support this by involving children in age-appropriate decision-making at home, encouraging them to voice their opinions respectfully, and supporting their involvement in extracurricular activities or areas of passion.
Together, we share the privilege of shaping confident, healthy and supported young people. By working in partnership across school and home, we help ensure that every child in our care feels safe, capable and ready to flourish.
Thank You to Our Families
As we come to the end of another rewarding year, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of our parents and carers for your support, partnership and trust. It is our pleasure to work with your son each day and to play a part in his growth, learning and development.

I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. May the break bring rest, joy and time well spent with those who matter most.
