Year 9

'Connection to self, school & community'

As the school year draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Year 9 students a happy, safe, and well-deserved holiday break. We hope the coming weeks provide you with time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends after a big year of learning and growth.

It has truly been a privilege and an honour for us to lead the Year 9 cohort throughout 2025. This year has seen the implementation of a range of new and innovative programs designed to engage, challenge, and reward you as learners. As a cohort, your effort, resilience, and willingness to embrace new opportunities has been exceptional, and we would like to sincerely thank every year 9 student for the year we have shared together.

As we publish the final year 9 newsletter article for 2025 it is somewhat bittersweet to say that Mr Bowen, Mr Boland, and Ms Lloyd will not be directly leading the cohort moving forward, we are confident you are being left in very safe hands. In 2026, the Year 10 team will be led by Ms Foster, assisted by Mr McCormick and Ms Underwood, who are very much looking forward to working with you as you take the next step in your senior secondary school journey.

We are also excited to share the next chapters for our Year 9 leadership team. Mr Boland is looking forward to his new role as PE and Health Domain Leader, Ms Lloyd will be supporting the Year 7 team, and Mr Bowen is excited to continue working with many of you through Student Voice, Leadership and Agency opportunities next year.

It has been a MASSIVE year for the Year 9 cohort. From Step Up and Home Group Challenges, to City Experience, Celebration of Achievement, and finally the Chronicle Auction, which was a fantastic way to finish the year — your enthusiasm and participation made each of these experiences a success.

We would also like to formally recognise the year-long efforts of the following students who were acknowledged at the school’s Presentation Night held at Bunjil Place. These students exemplify the values of our college and the positive impact our Year 9 cohort has had throughout the year:
