Dear Year 8 Families
As we move towards the end of Term 4, I’d like to take a moment to celebrate the achievements and experiences of our Year 8 students over the past few weeks.
Year 8 have just completed their yearly exam block, and I could not be prouder of the way they approached this significant step in their learning. Students demonstrated maturity, focus, and a clear understanding of the significance of these assessments. Their effort and attitude were truly commendable, and they should feel very proud of themselves.
Our Year 8 homerooms have been busy supporting the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal through creative fundraising initiatives:
These stalls were a wonderful success thanks to the generosity of students who donated ice cream, baked goods, and gave up their lunch times to help with selling, packing up, and promoting the events.
Next week, 8HR2 will be running a Clash Royale competition during lunch times. We wish them all the best and encourage students to get involved in this fun initiative for a great cause.
I also thank Miss Mancuso, Mrs Vukovic and Mr Hillman for their leadership and support in coordinating these fundraisers.

On Wednesday of Week 6, Year 8 enjoyed a well-deserved break from exams with a trip into the city on the train. Students toured St Mary’s Cathedral, learning about its rich history while taking time to appreciate the beauty and significance of the space.
The day continued with lunch in Hyde Park, where students relaxed with friends and enjoyed games of soccer and touch footy under perfect weather conditions. It was a memorable day of learning, reflection, and community.

As we enter the final three weeks of school, I encourage Year 8 to remain focused and settled as we finish the year strongly.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Year 8. It has been a joy to see their growth, resilience, and community spirit shine through this term.
Warm regards,
Miss Hines
