From the Principal

Hi everyone,

I would like to start by congratulating Ellen in the Grove - we came 3rd in the Regional Award, North Eastern - Metropolitan at the Victorian School Garden Awards this week! Ellen, Kate and about half of the Year 4 cohort went to collect the award at the Botanical Gardens yesterday. We could not be prouder of the work the students and Ellen put into the garden.

We are also about to commence our new building! We expect work to commence on or about the 10th of December, with site boundaries being first. We expect the site boundaries to take up most of one of the basketball courts, closest to the PAC. The green gate will still be operational, as will access to the Wicking, but it will be impacted by the builders requiring access via the double gates next to the green gate. We expect the demolition of the old building to take place over the summer holidays.

Next week we start our F - 4 swimming program - Thank you to Mr Liston for organising the buses, groups and lessons - it is a logistical challenge to organise! It does mean that we will have multiple playtime's across the day for different groupings of students, so please check in with any notes coming home from your year level teacher or Mr Liston for further times.

We will also commence building new play equipment near the GaGa pits next week - there will be monkey bars and other gymnastic style bars to cater for students older than Foundation and Year 1. We anticipate that they will be ready to use just prior to the holidays.

Finally, our students had their first transition session this morning for their 2026 classes, with another formal one being held on the 8th of December. The students will have a final short catch up in the last week of term. Thank you to the teachers, Mrs Crozier and Mrs Kennedy for all the work they put into making sure all students had at least one friend in their 2026 class from their list.
