NASCA Report

Wow, what a busy term this has been so far!

Our NASCA students have been involved in an incredible range of activities, learning experiences, and cultural opportunities that have made this term one to remember.

We kicked things off with a fantastic cooking workshop in partnership with Oz Harvest and Nestlé. A group of our NASCA students rolled up their sleeves and prepared nutritious meals to help feed the homeless community around the city. They also had the chance to try natural traditional treats, including the ever-popular green ants, a new experience for many!

Four of our NASCA girls have taken part in a weekly Cultural Art Masterclass over the last five weeks at Kimberwalli with Uncle Jamie Eastwood, where they created some truly impressive masterpieces on both canvas and emu eggs. Their creativity and pride in culture shone through every piece.

This term we also saw 14 of our students attend the Goanna Academy workshop, led by former NRL superstar Greg Inglis. Students were put through a range of sporting activities before sitting down for an important yarn about mental health and the impact it can have on ourselves and our communities.

Our students, led by Josh Sly, also had the honour of opening the Ohana Showcase at Campbelltown Art centre with a series of beautiful traditional dances. Their confidence, cultural pride, and teamwork were incredible to watch.

To top off the term, six of our NASCA students were recognised for their achievements and contributions at the local AECG Awards Night. We are extremely proud of each of them for the effort, leadership, and dedication they continue to show.
