Inclusive Education Space

This year, the Inclusive Education Space successfully facilitated multiple Community Access opportunities designed to promote social inclusion and provide authentic, real-world learning experiences. These thoughtfully planned activities aimed to build students’ independence and social skills within diverse community settings, empowering them to thrive beyond the classroom.
Students enjoyed an exciting educational visit to the Sea Life Aquarium, where they engaged with hands-on exhibits showcasing marine biodiversity, ecosystems, and conservation initiatives. Through interactive displays and group discussions, students deepened their understanding of sea life in a dynamic and supportive environment, fostering both curiosity and environmental awareness.
As part of the Hospitality Program, students explored real-world hospitality operations during a visit to Wests Leagues Club. This excursion offered practical insights into customer service, food handling, and workplace etiquette. The experience not only enhanced students’ skills but also inspired their career aspirations by providing valuable exposure to professional settings.
The WINK (Work, Independence, Networking, Knowledge) excursion provided students with unique opportunities to visit various workplaces and community hubs. This initiative played a vital role in transition planning and supported the development of skills essential for future employment and independent living, helping students build confidence for life after school.
In collaboration with the broader school community, the Inclusive Education Space coordinated active participation in the school swimming program. This initiative focused on developing students’ aquatic skills, water safety awareness, and overall physical fitness. With appropriate supports in place, the program was fully inclusive, ensuring all students could engage safely and confidently.
