An update from our Year Advisers

Year 7 have continued to demonstrate an exceptional transition into high school, embracing new expectations with maturity and enthusiasm. Throughout the year, students have thrived both academically and socially, engaging wholeheartedly in a range of activities that have strengthened their cohesion as a cohort. Memorable experiences such as the Day Camp at Cataract Activity Centre, Laser Tag, T-RED Day, and the Colour Run have not only showcased their teamwork and resilience but also highlighted the positive relationships they continue to build within our school community.

This term has been a particularly proud moment for our year group, with many students recognised for their outstanding efforts at the Presentation Night, held at Wests League Club, where several Year 7 students received awards for their outstanding academic achievements. Students have finalised their yearly assessments and projects across all subjects and are now eagerly looking forward to celebrating together at our annual Christmas Concert. It has been truly rewarding to witness their growth this year, and I commend Year 7 for their commitment, spirit, and continued drive to excel.

Have a wonderful break! I am looking forward to seeing you all thrive throughout Year 8!

As we wrap up an exciting and productive year, our Year 8 cohort can look back with pride on everything they have achieved in 2025. Select students enthusiastically embraced the Project Based Learning Program, developing creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving skills. Many also took part in the Love Bites Jnr Program, engaging in important conversations around respect, relationships, and personal safety.

To round off the term, all our students are diving into the Year 8 Swim Program in Week 9, to build confidence in the water and strengthen essential swimming and water-safety skills.

We would also like to extend a huge congratulations to all the Year 8 students who received awards at Presentation Night. Your hard work, dedication, and positive contributions to our school community have truly shone through. Whether recognised for academic excellence, leadership, improvement, or outstanding effort, each award is a testament to your commitment and resilience. Well done to all our deserving recipients, you should all be very proud!

As we head into the school holidays, we remind all Year 8 students to stay safe, have a happy holiday season, and take the time to rest and recharge. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a fantastic start to Term 1 next year!"

As we wrap up a busy and exciting year, it’s been fantastic to see our Year 9 students embrace new challenges and experiences. From their Term 1 Rewards Excursion with bowling and laser tag, to the Term 2 combined movie outing with Year 10, they have made the most of every opportunity to have fun and build connections with their peers.

This year, we introduced a new reward for Term 3 where students who consistently demonstrated our school values were rewarded with extra tokens to spend at various stalls during our TRed Day celebrations. It was a great way to celebrate the positive behaviour and attitude shown by so many students throughout the term.

Year 9 students who have maintained 85% attendance and earned at least 10 positive entries will be invited to a special excursion to Raging Waters, rounding off the year in style. This will be followed by Activities Week on the Tuesday and Wednesday, giving students a great finish to the school year with a variety of enjoyable end-of-term activities.

I would like to congratulate the group of 20-25 Year 9 students who were selected for Peer Support Training this term. These students will step up as leaders in 2026, supporting next year’s Year 7s as they transition into high school.

We have also seen the Year 9s complete their first year of elective classes, and next year, they’ll have even more opportunities to explore new subjects as they move into Year 10. It’s been a wonderful year of growth, achievements, and memories for our Year 9s. I wish all of our students and their families a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back in 2026 for another year of learning and growth!

Year 12 has started their final school year with energy, teamwork, and plenty of school pride. Early in the term, students were thrilled to receive their senior jackets, proudly wearing them as a symbol of leadership and the exciting journey ahead.

The cohort made a big impact on TRED Day, running a lively fundraising stall where they sold fairy floss in their vibrant multicultural attire. A special shout-out goes to Celio, Subhana, and Cadence for their fantastic effort and enthusiasm throughout the day. Students also enjoyed taking part in spearing activities, adding to the fun and cultural spirit of the event.

Beyond school grounds, several Year 12s joined the Driving Out Violence convoy, helping raise awareness about domestic and family violence. Their participation demonstrated maturity, compassion, and a commitment to supporting important community causes.

With such a strong start, Year 12 has truly set the tone for a memorable and meaningful year ahead.
