Principal’s Reflection Celebrating an Outstanding 2025

As we come to the close of another remarkable year at Thomas Reddall High School, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. 2025 has truly been a year defined by community spirit, collaboration and a shared commitment to creating and sustaining a positive, inclusive school culture.
At the heart of everything we do is our people, and I would like to sincerely thank our staff for the extraordinary work they do each and every day. To our teachers, support staff and executive team – your tireless dedication, endless energy and compassionate care for our students does not go unnoticed. You consistently go above and beyond to support learning, wellbeing and growth, and our school is stronger because of you.
Reports were emailed home on Friday 12th December. If you need support in accessing your child's report please contact the front office.
This year, we had the pleasure of celebrating our students’ achievements through several outstanding events. Our Presentation Evening was a wonderful occasion, recognising academic success, effort and personal growth. It was incredibly rewarding to see students celebrated alongside their families and teachers. Similarly, our Sports Assembly highlighted the sporting excellence, teamwork and determination of our students, reinforcing the value of participation, commitment and school pride. Thank you to Mr Lugg and Mrs Adamson for their organisation of these events and to our incredible SASS team led my Mrs Bain and Ms Milburn who went above and beyond to make these events so special.
Our Rewards Day at Raging Waters was another highlight, providing a well-earned celebration for students who demonstrated outstanding attendance and behaviour throughout the year .I was thrilled at how many students qualified for this epic day - above 85% attendance, no suspension and more positive than negative behaviour entries. What great achievements! It was fantastic to see students enjoying the day together, reflecting the positive choices they have made and the culture we continue to build. Thank you to Mrs Hutchinson for your organisation of this special day and to the year advisers and staff who attended in support of our students.
Activities Week on Tuesday and Wednesday brings incredible energy and excitement to our school. Students had the opportunity to engage in a wide range of experiences including surfing, the cables water park, the Billabong, fishing, bowling and Christmas baking. These activities not only create lasting memories but also strengthened friendships, teamwork and student engagement.
We finish the week on a high note with our Christmas Concert on Thursday. It is heart-warming to see so many students excited to perform, showcasing their talents and confidence in front of the school community. The joy and enthusiasm on display truly captured the spirit of the season. Congratulations to our new Year 12's who took this opportunity to get ahead of the game and fundraise for their formal with a muft day and raffle. A big thank you to Mr Norman and Ms Yaqub for your efforts in organising the concert.
As we look ahead to 2026, I am pleased to share that we have experienced minimal staff turnover, which provides valuable continuity for our students and school community. We wish Ms Cagulada and Ms Marzano all the very best as they explore new opportunities at different schools, and we thank them for their valued contributions to Thomas Reddall High School. We are excited to welcome several new staff members: Mrs Cunningham to English, Mr Boyer to Science, Mrs Cook as our new Librarian, Mr Heylan to PDHPE and Ms McFadden to Visual Art. I am also delighted to announce that Mrs Pearson is now a permanent teacher within our HSIE faculty, and Mr Goodall has accepted permanency within our Inclusive Education team. Our school community continues to grow, with an additional 50 enrolments heading into 2026, reflecting the confidence families have in our school.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our parents, carers and wider community for the incredible support shown to me during my first year as Principal of Thomas Reddall High School. Your trust, partnership and encouragement have been greatly appreciated, and I am grateful to be part of such a supportive and engaged community.
As Principal, I am immensely proud of our students, staff and families. Thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of the Thomas Reddall High School community. I look forward to building on this success as we move into 2026 together
