Optional Parent Teacher Meetings

Optional Parent-Teacher Interviews for Years 5 – 11 will take place on Thursday 4 December between 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. This year, to provide greater flexibility and convenience, these interviews will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams. Interviews are for five minutes only.

An interview schedule is available through the TASS Parent Lounge allowing parents/carers to access and select a suitable interview time. The booking schedule will close on Tuesday 2 December at 9:00 AM.

During the scheduled interviews, parents/carers will join a Microsoft Teams meeting and initially be placed in a virtual waiting room. Once the teacher is available, they will admit the parent/carer from the waiting room into the meeting. At the completion of interview, the teacher will end the online meeting.

Author's Hour with 5 Blue

On 17 November, 5 Blue hosted Author’s Hour, a special event where we shared our English learning journey with our parents. During the presentation, several students spoke about the key activities and achievements we completed throughout the year. From exploring The Wild Robot to developing our skills in informative writing, we have grown significantly as young writers—almost like mini Shakespeares in the making. We have greatly enjoyed our English studies in Year 5 and look forward to continuing our progress throughout our learning journey at SPC.  (Elijah Stanley-Nigro and Vittorio Lo Surdo)

The parent's experience:

I was so grateful to Ms Thongthip and Mrs Tatola for providing us with the opportunity to attend Author’s Hour for 5 Blue. During the event, the boys presented the novels they’ve studied throughout the year, demonstrated their understanding of literary devices and showcased their written work. We were so impressed by the significant growth in their knowledge and the confidence with which they are flourishing. (Mother of Sebastian M)

Thank you for inviting us parents to the inspiring Author's Hour to showcase some of the amazing learning in the Year 5 Extension English class. It was an incredibly exciting and insightful chance to see the impressive scope of learning across all four terms from novel studies, poetry writing and analysis to interesting information reports. We deeply appreciate the dedication of the three wonderful teachers whose support has clearly fostered amazing talent in the classroom. (Mother of Max D)

It was wonderful to see the boys demonstrate what they have learned during the year.  The progress they have made from Term 1 to Term 4 is outstanding. They display confidence and passion in their writing and in their ability to put down in writing what they have learned in class is impressive. Thank you for the invitation to sit through the presentation. (Parents of James A)

Author's Hour was such a special moment. Watching Year 5 Blue read their work with confidence and pride reminded me how much they’ve grown as storytellers. Aten was so proud to show me his writing, and my favourite was his informative piece on the Gospel of Matthew. Well done, 5 Blue. A special thank you to Mrs Tatola and Miss Thongthip for leading, guiding, and inspiring our children every day. (Mother of Aten N)

Thank you Ms Thongthip and Mrs Tatola for allowing the parents to have a glimpse of our boys' work at school. We are very impressed with the English work completed by the boys. The level of work presented at the Author's Hour has shown the dedication and the effort of the boys as well as the teachers. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to have a glimpse of their English learning! (Parents of Joshua P)

The opportunity to see the students in the class present their work and to witness the incredible level they are working at was wonderful. Looking through Jonathan's Extension English work from the beginning of the year and seeing how much he has improved was really great. (Parents of Jonathan R)
