Reminder: Speech Night 2025
As per the last two issues of the Especean, the College’s Annual Speech Night will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Quaycentre, Homebush next Wednesday 3 December commencing at 6:30 PM with an estimated finish time of 8:30 PM – 8.45 PM. Parking will be available in Sydney Olympic Park P3 on Sarah Durack Avenue. Please refer to the map below.
Attendance is compulsory for all students from Years 5 to 11 and a roll will be taken on the evening. All students from Years 5 to 10 are to be in attendance in full College summer uniform. All Year 11 students, all prize winners and some performers will be required to wear their blazers, and they will be informed separately in due course. Students receiving awards will be notified during homeroom tomorrow, with communication to parents to follow shortly after.
Students who are absent from Speech Night without approved leave or a medical certificate will be contacted by their Year Coordinator and will be required to attend a 2-hour community service detention on Monday 8 December at the College.
Entry to the venue’s Main Arena will open at 5:45 PM. Parents, carers and guests are asked to enter via Door 2, while College students and staff should enter through Door 5. Invited VIPs are requested to enter via Reception.
Please note that no outside food or drink is permitted inside the venue. Students must not chew gum and are not permitted to bring water or drink bottles onto the Main Arena floor.
Upon arrival, all students are required to report directly to their homeroom teacher in the Main Arena to have their attendance marked. Teachers will then direct students to their designated seating area.
It is also important to note that full student attendance at the College is compulsory and expected on each school day up to the last day of term, i.e., up to 3:10 PM on Wednesday 3 December at school followed by Speech Night in the evening.

The Uniform Shop will reopen in 2026 on the dates below:
Tuesday 27 January 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday 28 January 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday 29 January 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday 30 January 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Normal trading commences Monday 2 February 2026.
Lost Property
This term we have seen far too many lost items in Lost Property. We remind students and parents/carers of the necessity to label all items of uniform and personal belongings, as stated on page 37 of the College Diary:
All articles of clothing/belongings/devices are to be clearly labelled appropriately
e.g. Joshua Smith NOT Joshua or JS.
Students are notified via their email to collect lost labelled items from College
Reception and a copy of this email is also sent to the Year Coordinator and Homeroom teacher.
All items that are not labelled and have been in Lost Property for a significant time will be removed at the conclusion of the term - they will either go to the Uniform Shop to be resold as “Second Hand” items or to a designated charity.
- College Reception cannot be responsible for any lost property, especially for unlabelled items.
We also have many items that are obviously hand-me-downs with different names on them, not names of current students. If you know your son owns such items and they are lost, please ask them to go to College Reception to check if their items are there.
