Week 7

Great learning happens everyday at Martin's Gully.  We love learning inside, outside, with our class and with other classes.

On Friday we watched our line dancers perform in assembly.  Congratulations girls for stepping outside your comfort zones and giving it your all.  This was part of an elective subject offered to students in years 3-6.  Students were able to select from tennis, austag, yoga, line dancing and gardening.  We hope to expand our elective program next year to tap into student interest areas.

2026 Captains Speeches

On Tuesday, 17 year 5 students spoke to our school community as candidates for 2026 school captains. They were amazing!!!! I have listened to many speeeches over the years and all were great but these left me bursting with pride. To have so many students who showed such self belief and confidence was so wonderful. Every single one of these students are amazing leaders, whether they wear the badge or not. Thank you students for being wonderful role models and PAX leaders and to their parents who clearly supported them through this process.

Outdoor Learning at MGPS

Today we showed our dedication to outside learning.  Outdoor learning helps students develop skills in areas like self-reliance, problem-solving, and teamwork, while fostering a greater appreciation for nature and promoting health and well-being.  We learnt about orienteering, yabbies, yarn in the outdoors and being citizen scientists.

Stage 3 Camp to Coffs Coast Adventure Centre

A huge thank you to Mrs Bull, Mrs Polson and Mr Annetts for taking time away from their families to take Stage 3 for an adventure in Coffs Harbour.  Overnight excursions would not happen if teachers were not willing to do this and we love that you are able to give these memories to our students.

PAX Word of the Week       CONTENTMENT

Gallery Image
  • Contentment is the state of being content or satisfied. Contentment is feelings of peace, happiness and delight.
  • Being content is part of our PAX VISION. It is very similar to the feeling of happiness. When we are content, we can engage in learning better and spread positivity to others.

Watch the actions for SATISFACTION (CONTENTMENT) in Australian Sign Language.

  • In AUSLAN, some words share the same meaning as others.
  • There isn’t one special sign for contentment, so we use the sign for satisfaction instead.
  • Both words show the feeling of being happy, calm, and pleased with what we have.

Keep your eye on our 'What's Happening' notifications and the school Facebook page for everything MGPS!!  A gentle reminder about dropping your children to school early in the morning.  Supervision is provided from 8:30am.

Enjoy your week!
