A Plethora of Penguins

Australian Antarctic Festival

I am excited to announce that Woori Yallock Primary School is taking part in the Australian Antarctic Festival held in Hobart this month. The festival celebrates the local Antarctic community of scientists, technicians, tradespeople, government agencies & commercial suppliers, and demonstrates what they do on the frozen continent.

Last term, the 5/6 students worked together to decorate 50 wooden penguins, creating a stunning display of colour and pattern. This WYPS penguin colony will be exhibited from 22nd – 25th August, along with 200 other schools from Australia and around the world. It is wonderful that Woori Yallock PS can be a part of celebrating the wider global community in such a creative way.
