Book Week Magic

The theme for Book Week 2024 is "Reading is Magic," celebrating the enchanting and transformative power of books.

"Reading is Magic" reminds us of the incredible gift that books provide.

For children, picking up a book and getting lost in another world is a special experience. It’s a privilege that offers not only escape but also adventure, imagination, and discovery. Books have the power to transport young readers to far-off lands, introduce them to captivating characters, and present thrilling challenges, and all from the comfort of their own space.

Please look at our dedicated newsletter page to share in the activities and celebrations of our Magical Book Week. https://newsletters.naavi.com/issue/5wyOrQJ/edit/NQoDKQM

Thank you to Rhiannon Hamilton from Year 1 for the time and effort you put into the organisation of activities and experiences that our students have been able to have this week.

I can't wait for the announcement of the winning door!

A Word from your School Captains to our Crossing Guards

We were excited to have our Crossing Supervisors attend assembly to acknowledge  their important role in the community. We presented them with a certificate made by the students, chocolates and every child held up a stop sign saying thank you for keeping us safe.

From the Captains

Today we have the crossing supervisors John, Dexter and Alf  here with us.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you  for being the ones to go out of your way to help us to  keep safe.

To show our appreciaton we have made a video and a certificate to show you our thanks.

Sometimes a smile from you all, and a word of support encourages us to walk happily into school each morning, and back home at the end of the day.

Thank you from the bottom of the GRPS hearts!

We hope you enjoy the video and thank you for keeping our community safe.

Farewell Georgia

I know I am going to break a few hearts here.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce Georgia, such a valued member of our wonderful Admin team, will be leaving us to pursue an exciting new opportunity.

Georgia has been a warm and friendly presence at GRPS, always greeting our families and students with a smile and attending to the needs of our school community with such professionalism.

We all adore Georgia's quick sense of humour and the strong, positive relationships she forms with our students and families.

We are sure that families will join us in acknowledging the outstanding work Georgia does every day. Her warmth and friendliness have been an incredible asset to our school, and we will deeply miss her infectious laughter, dedication, and kindness. Georgia's final day will be Friday the 30th of August.

We wish Georgia all the best in her future. We know her career ahead will be amazing, and she will continue to bring positivity and excellence to everything she does.

Thank you, Georgia, for everything you’ve done for GRPS!

Important Message

As we prepare for the next budget cycle, we will soon begin work on the new Book Packs, and the school voluntary contributions.

This year, we had quite a low number of families contributing to the voluntary contributions, which has meant the re-assessments of our budgets, particularly in funding the extra programs that enrich our students' experiences.

We understand that these contributions are voluntary, however, your continued support plays a pivotal role in enabling us to offer an enriched curriculum and learning experiences that go beyond the standard requirements, extending beyond what is funded by the Government.

Your support makes a real difference in what we can offer students. We will continue to explore ways to manage this challenge and ensure that we maintain a high-quality educational experience for all.

This year, our admin and leadership team have been successful in quite a few grants, which has led to the works happening around the school grounds. None of these works would be possible without these grants.

Ciao

Ciao

I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a fantastic end to the term, even though there are a few weeks to go. I’m off on a five-week adventure across Europe, with a special focus on Italy!

My travels will whisk me away to the dazzling streets of Milan, the charming landscapes of Tuscany, the vibrant city of Palermo, and the stunning coastlines of Sardinia. I’ll also be exploring southern Italy, including the beautiful Taormina, and Catania.

While I’m away, I’m confident that everything will continue to run smoothly here at school, thanks to Melissa stepping into my role.

A huge thank you to Lauren Rice, Jean Maxwell, and Jess Steer for their support in making sure Melissa has everything she needs.

I can’t wait to share my adventures with you when I return.

Arrivederci
