Year 6 Update
Upcoming learning Term 3, Weeks 8 & 9
During the next fortnight, Year 6 students are undertaking learning in the following areas:
Reading: Classes are reading Morris Geitzman's novel 'Help Around the House' and discussing the authors craft that goes into story writing.
Writing: Students are working on creating a narrative for another Year 6 student, they are looking at their audience, sentence structure, paragraphing and figurative language.
Maths: Students are conducting chance experiments, they are learning about chance as decimals, fractions and percentages.
Inquiry: Students are learning about the three levels of Government and how laws are passed.
S.E.L: Students will be learning stress management.
Homework:
Term Homework: Students should have now finished their Family Suitcase homework, ready for the Family Suitcase Expo this upcoming Wednesday the 11th of September at 9:00am. Families are encouraged to come.
Reading Homework: Students are expected to read every night and log this in their diary with a signature from a parent/carer. These are to be handed into the teacher weekly.
News and Reminders:
Drink bottles: Please remember to bring a drink bottle to school every day. It saves disruption to your child's learning when this is accessible within the room.
Devices: Please remind your child to charge their device each night so that they are able to use it in class.
Hats: Hats are now compulsory from Monday the 9th of September.
