Year 2 Update
Our learning from the last few weeks.
Here is a snapshot of what the Year 2 students have been up to and a sneak peak of what's coming up!
Photos from the past few weeks.
Reading - Students will be engaging in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. During reading sessions, students will take part learning different comprehension strategies such as predicting, author's purpose, inferencing and answering questions and facts and opinion.
Writing - Students are in the mix of writing Narratives, they have explored the different elements of what makes a good story. Students are working hard on upleveling their writing by making sure to include a range of punctuation, building up the problem and adjectives to make their writing more engaging for the reader. The students have blown their teachers away with their creative ideas they have added into the story.
Maths - Year 2 students have finished their block of learning on subtraction by demonstrating their understanding when using hands on manipulatives. Students have begun exploring division and using lots of hand on materials to show their understanding of sharing objects equally.

News and Reminders:
Hats: Hats are now compulsory from Monday the 9th of September.
Library books and borrowing: Each week or fortnight, we visit the library and encourage our students to borrow a book. At the moment, we have most students borrowing, which is great to see.
Home Reading: We encourage all students to bring their reader bag back each week to change over their books. Please make sure you are recording when your children are reading each night.
