Good Afternoon Parents/Carers,
Public Education Week 2024 "Open Day"
It was great to see so many Parents/Carers and community come to support our Open Day for Public Education Week last Friday. This year's theme was "Proud to Belong" and I certainly felt "Proud to Belong" at Werris Creek Public School as I hope all of our families and community of Werris Creek feel "Proud to Belong". We hope you enjoyed the afternoon. I would also like to give a big thank you to the Lions Club of Werris Creek for cooking our beautiful BBQ lunch. We are truly grateful for your help on the day and all that you do for our community. Congratulations to all of our award recipients who truly represent Werris Creek Public School and are "Proud to Belong".
Quirindi HS Taster Afternoon
This Thursday, our Year 6 students are invited to attend Quirindi High School between 12:00pm and 2:10pm for a Taster afternoon. If you wish for your Year 6 child to attend, you will need to collect from school and transport to Quirindi.
Book Week 2024
Next week we will be celebrating Book Week from Monday, 19th August through to Friday, 23rd August. This year's theme is "Reading Is Magic". After many changes to our Book Parade date, due to clashes with our calendar, it will now be held on Thursday, 22nd August at 2:00pm. We invite our students to dress up as their favourite character on this day and parade around the middle terrace with their classmates. A $10 book voucher is on offer for the best dressed costume in each year group. We welcome all of our school community to come and see the fabulous array of costumes.
Book Fair 2024
To coincide with Book Week 2024, our Library will be hosting a Book Fair with the theme of "Garden - Catch the reading bug" in Week 5, Monday, 19th August to Friday, 23rd August. We invite you to come and purchase books for your children and see our fantastic garden display. Thank you to Ms Schumann for organising and running the fair. It takes quite a bit of organisation to make this happen and we appreciate your efforts. Times for purchasing books can be found on our calendar.
Kind regards
