Bayside Peninsula Year 12 Koorie Celebration

Stephanie Armstong was invited to attend the Bayside Peninsula Year 12 Koorie Celebration this term at Nairm Marr Djambana Nursery. The event was a celebration of Koorie student's completion of 13 years of formal schooling and included a formal ceremony hosted by Brian Walker – Koorie Engagement Support Officer with speakers such as Simon Hamilton - Area Executive Director and Kylie Bell - Chair of the Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (LAECG).

Steph and her fellow students were acknowledged for their resilience in completing their schooling, particularly in overcoming the challenges of schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic. The overarching message of the event was one of perseverance and pride in the student’s cultural and academic journey.
