STEM

This week in STEM, all the senior students were given the opportunity to explore the conductivity of a range of various everyday items. Firstly, they had to create a testing device which was done by creating a small circuit using some aluminum foil strips stuck to a piece of cardboard that was then used to test each of the items. All of the groups had loads of fun predicting which items would be conductive and which would be insulative. Here are some photos of the Grade 4’s hard at work testing and recording down their results.  

ART

Lots of wonderful painting has been happening over the past couple of weeks in Art. Some of our paintings are almost finished and we can’t wait to display them and have everyone enjoy them as well. Lots of different techniques have been learnt over different year levels including stippling, layering paint techniques, dripping, dry strokes and blending. Well done everyone! 

ITALIAN

All students have been learning different responses to the question: Che tempo fa?  (What is the weather like?).  Some possible responses are: Fa Freddo- It’s cold,   Tira Vento- It’s windy,   Piove- It’s rainy,  C’e’ il sole- It’s sunny.  Have a try at asking this question at home so students can practise their responses.

SPORT

The students have been working on their hand-eye coordination these past two weeks. The lower levels have been practising their catching the throwing with bean bags and doing all sorts of tricks! The upper levels have been further developing their strength in throwing the ball and catching it while on the move. It's been great to get onto the court and see everyones skills!

Last Friday the 3-6 grades travelled back to Kyabram to compete in the Waranga Athletics Carnival. There were lots of other schools attending and the students represented our school with pride as they demonstrated our values of respect and kindness.

Congratulations to Cabe, Zac, Ella, Tamara for receiving individual ribbons on the day. It was great to see the team spirit in the relays as everyone gave it a red hot go!

 Congratulations to the senior boys relay team as they can third and will compete at the next level! It was a great day seeing everyone try their hardest!
