At the end of Term 3, I am excited to share a special day celebrated in China:

Chinese Teacher's Day

中国教师节 zhōng guó jiào shī jié

Every year on September 10th, students across China take their time to appreciate and honour the teachers for their hard work in helping them learn and grow.

Teacher's Day is an important celebration in Chinese culture. On this day, students show their gratitude by giving their teachers cards, flowers or small gifts. They often perform songs or recite poems to express how much they appreciate their teacher's efforts. In China, teachers play a very special role in society, and this day is a way to thank them for their dedication.

Here in our school, we also want to take this opportunity to think about how much our teachers do for us every day, from helping us build our foundational skills in Prep to educating Year 6 students as life mentors to strive for personal success. One of the best ways to show appreciation is by being kind, polite and helpful in class, also saying 'Thank you for teaching us 谢谢您教我,老师 (xiè xiè nín jiāo wǒ, lǎo shī)'!

Let's all take a moment to thank our wonderful teachers at DPS for their hard work, not just on Teacher's Day, but also every day. They help us become better learners and guiding us in becoming the best we can be!
