Grade 5-History
Learning Expo
This term, the Level Five students have been learning about history of Australia prior to Federation. Students were asked to research an Australian figure from this time period and worked in teams to build a diorama portraying an important event. On Monday the 9th of September, parents and Level 4 parents were invited into our classrooms to celebrate their learning. They were able to ask questions of these notable Australians.
Sophie 5E- I liked that we could get into character and got to learn about so many different famous Australians. Making the diorama was my favourite part.
Roxana 5E- I enjoyed the history expedition because it was fun to make the diorama with my partner. It was nice having the grade 4s and our parents come in to ask us questions. I learned a lot and would love to do it again!
Aneeqa 5K - I enjoyed making the diorama and when the grade 4's came in and asked questions and answering them.
Jerry 5K - It was a amazing experience to have such a wonderful chance to share what were learning with the grade 4s!
Win 5K - I enjoyed learning about the different people that help Australia become what it is today. I also think that the way the grade fours and the parents came and interacted with us boosted our confidence in speaking to strangers.
Alisha 5K- I enjoyed the learning expo because people there was nice and gave a lot of compliments, I enjoyed acting like William Wentworth and try to make an accent.
Ivy 5K - This term we were learning about Australian history. We wrote biographies of famous people that changed the past of Australia. Our teacher sorted us into groups and we even made dioramas! We got to make an oragami box for our question cards. It was so much fun!
Roonica M 5C- I dressed up as George Bass. My favourite part was definitely answering the questions by the year 4s because everyone loved my wig!!!
Evelyn 5C- I dressed up as Gregory Blaxland and worked with Addison. It was fun making the diorama as a group and answering the questions the students asked. My Mum came and thought it was interesting.
Addison 5C- I dressed up as William Lawson and worked with Evelyn. I really enjoyed talking to the year 4s.
