Old School Immersion Day in Level 3
In Week 8, the Level Three students enjoyed an olden day school immersion day where they got to experience school as it would have been 150 years ago.
The students were taught by the 'time travelling teachers', Miss Primrose, Miss Kiljoy, Mr Grump and Miss Prickle, who looked remarkably like Mrs Gale, Miss Joy, Mr Ly and Miss Pike. They learnt spelling and maths by rote, sat in rows, worked on chalkboards and played old fashioned games, with many expressing that they preferred 'Old School' to 'New School' by the end of the day.
I thought the Dunce Hat was funny, but if it was really the olden days, it would have been embarrassing. - Damien
I thought it was pretty fun to pretend we were at school in the olden days but if it was real, I would be sweating because I would be nervous I might get the cane. - Austin
I felt that it was so fun because I have never written with chalk on a chalk board. I enjoyed doing Geography and hopscotch. The whole day was really fun. - Svetha
Can we keep the Dunce Hat? - Ricardo
I really had a fun time. The Dunce Hat and cane was really funny. I was really surprised people wanted the Dunce Hat - why would they want that? I also really enjoyed Geography and skipping. - Alessia
Can we play the games again? - Reon
