Inquiry

This term we continue to ask, 'What would our world be like without water?' Who uses water and how is it used? What happens if we don't look after our water? What can we do to protect our water?'

Students are working collaboratively to investigate how we can use our water efficiently, and how can we filter and purify polluted water.

Literacy

Students are developing their ability to use letter-sound relationships to help with reading unfamiliar words. Learners are also using their prior knowledge to connect with the text they are reading. Students are learning about persuasive writing and supporting their arguments with sound reasoning and factual evidence. 

 Mathematics

This term we are learning to problem solve by using the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to answer worded problems. Students are highlighting important words and numbers, using concrete materials as well as pictorially drawing images to assist in answering their worded problems correctly.
