SPOTLIGHTING BULLYING – INSPIRING KINDNESS ART EXHIBITION
We are proud to announce that Clayton North Primary School has a couple of artworks displayed as part of The Track Gallery’s Art Exhibition – Spotlighting Bullying – Inspiring Kindness’.
Firstly, we have a collaborative artwork titled ‘Kindness Tree’. Students across the school were asked to write and draw about an act of kindness on heart-shaped paper and add them to the tree. As the acts of kindness were added, we watched the tree bloom. Just as people are built up by the kindness of others.
Keenan in 5/6B will also have his artwork about bullying on display.
You can see the exhibition at The Track Gallery from now until the 15th September at 47 Miller Crescent, Mt Waverley.
We hope many families can visit the gallery and see the important message behind the exhibition.
State School Spectacular
Over the next 2 days, 21 students from Years 5&6 will be rehearsing and participating in ‘SPLASH’ the Victorian State School Spectacular 2024.
We wish all these students the best when they perform two shows this Saturday to thousands of people. These students have given up two recesses per week and will have put in four full days of rehearsals before they perform on Saturday 14th September. Now, that is dedication!
Also, these students and their families participated in raising funds towards the costs of attending the #VSSS. We had a 'Dress Like a Principal' Day, a plant sale, a bake sale, and raised over $600.
We would also like to give an enormous thank you to Kathie Witter and her family. Kathie went above and beyond expectations when she contacted her family and asked them if they would contribute money. They were amazingly generous and collectively donated the rest of the funds needed. What a fabulous family!
Stay tuned for our next newsletter, when you will hear from the students about their event experience.
