Snapshots from Springvale Campus
Welcome to Term 2! It has been fabulous coming back to school this week and hearing about all the special things our students and their families got up to during the holidays, including Eid and Easter celebrations, visits to special places like the Eureka Sky Deck and the trampoline park and lots of catch ups with friends and family members. I hear there has been lots of relaxing at home as well, which is what holidays are for. Our teachers have also used their time away from school to have some fun and recharge, as well as to catch up on a little bit of work in readiness for Term 2.
This term is promising to be another busy but exciting one with lots of special events planned. This week has already started with a whole school excursion to the Springvale City Hall to see a stage production of Cinderella. It was a great opportunity for our two campuses to enjoy this shared theatrical experience together. This engaging modern retell of the beloved classic captivated students, while providing invaluable lessons around developing self-confidence, managing emotions, navigating relationships and making responsible choices.
The remainder of the term will see more special events, as well as lots of new learning for all of our students. When I visited classrooms on the first day back, I was amazed at how settled and engaged all the students were already. I witnessed some amazing letters and sounds practice in the FLC, recount writing in the JLC, rounding numbers in the MLC, learning about the ANZACs in the SLC and some very noisy colour mixing in the Art Room using a marble and a box! If day one is anything to go by, I am certain that our students will continue to have an amazing term of learning and growth. I can’t wait to hear about all of their achievements in the months to come!
Take care,
Mrs Mirela Karup
