Welcome back for Term Two! We hope everyone had a fantastic break and are ready to dive back into another exciting term!

Walking around the school this week it has been so wonderful to hear students chatting about their holidays and sharing their experiences with classmates. There were tales of overseas holidays, fun family day trips and importantly some lazy days at home. The students who came along to the holiday program run on site by Their Care, took part in many fun activities such as marble painting, cooking and even a dance party.  However, by far the most popular event was their excursion to the cinema to watch Kung Fu Panda 4!

There were lots of special occasions celebrated over the holidays; we hope every family who celebrated something special, had a joyous and wonderful time.

What was also evident as we walked around the school, was how easily our students have transitioned back into their normal classroom routines. Our amazing students have started the term with positive attitudes; they are keen and ready to learn.

Even though we have only been back at school for a week, this term is already shaping up to be jam packed with exciting events!

On Wednesday students and teachers practised their best smiles for our School Photo Day.  Then on Thursday we came together with the students and teachers from the Springvale Campus to watch a theatre production of Cinderella at the Springvale Community Hub. This was our first whole school event of the year and it was fantastic!

This excursion provided the opportunity for our school community to share in the joy of a live performance and experience the magic of theatre. Students were captivated by the costumes, lights and stage magic. The story also carried some strong messages about resilience and respect.  After watching the show students enjoyed their morning tea together on the basketball courts outside the Springvale Community Hub.

The Cinderella excursion was only the first of many exciting events on the calendar for this term. Today the SLC students began the Interschool Sports Program, as part of which they play a variety of different sports against students from other schools in our local area. They are also preparing for their much anticipated Log Cabin Camp! Next week our JLC students are heading to Melbourne Zoo to learn about the animals and their habitats.

To help ensure all these events run smoothly please look out for notices in your child’s school bag and make sure they are completed and returned to school as soon as possible. Also remember to check your Compass app for announcements and scroll over to our Facebook page to see what’s happening at our amazing school!

Term Two promises to be filled with new challenges, opportunities, and memorable experiences, what an exciting time!

Kind regards,
