Year 7

Assistant Principal's Report

Who could believe that we are into week 5 of term, the time has certainly gone quick. We have also seen a change in weather to cooler days, and students must be wearing their winter uniforms. If there are students that need support with uniform items, please contact the school and speak to a member of our Student Services team.

It has been great to see our year 7 cohort continue to develop academically, socially and emotionally this term.  They will be provided with many more opportunities as we progress throughout the year to continue to reach for their full potential and develop into well rounded students.

Please remember to reach out to the College if there are ways to further support your child. The year 7 team and I look forward to continuing building positive relationships with all families so that we can work in partnership so that all of our year 7’s thrive.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7

As we find ourselves mid way through term 2, it is important for us to take a moment to pause and congratulate our Year 7s for making it through the journey so far. Despite the busyness, it has been heartening to see our students beginning to settle into their routines, finding their feet and setting up the rhythm for their academic life.

Our Year 7's have settled in well. It is not just about getting used to the way classes are run and common assessment tasks, but also finding their place within the school. It is about making long lasting friendships and connections with their teachers who will help them explore their interests and discover the many opportunities that our school community has to offer.

This term has undoubtedly been a busy one already. From the excitement of Athletics Carnival and swimming lessons, the challenges of learning new things especially the Healthy Minds program and Year 7B showcasing their amazing work in their Enrichment Expo. We look forward to the rest of the term filled with more activities such as more Healthy Minds presentations, the Man Cave and Big Sister Experience, Year 7 Wellbeing Day, Cross Country, Night at the Museum and lots of learning.

As we look ahead to the remainder of the term, let’s continue to work towards an environment where our students feel supported, safe and empowered to learn. We will be celebrating the Year 7s achievements, big and small, and continue to provide the Year 7s guidance, supports and resources they may need to succeed.
