Student Voice &

Positive Environment

Our SRC has continued to work hard to incorporate all student voice into everything they do. The SRC representatives have regular meetings with their year level class captains to ensure all student voices and ideas are heard and discussed. This will continue throughout the year. Another way of obtaining input from all students is the Attitude to School survey which is completed annually by all students. This survey is important to be able to gather the opinions of students and use their feedback to see how we can further improve their experiences at the College. Students will also shortly be completing the second round of PIVOT surveys, where students will complete a short survey on the teaching and learning practices is a number of their classes, so that their teacher is able to incorporate their feedback into their practices to ensure all students build on their agency in learning.

On the 24th of April, our year 10-12 SRC representatives ventured to Werribee Secondary College to participate in the Joanne Ryan Federal Minister for Lalor Leadership Forum. This forum bought together senior student leaders from secondary schools throughout the Wyndham area to look at issues they face as young people, and also areas for improvement at their prospective schools. The students came up with some initial ideas and will meet later in the year to continue to build on them and work together on a collective area they have identified.

As we are in a school review year, our SRC and student voice will play a large part in the review. Student feedback will be given and will help provide input our strategic plan for the next four years. This will be ongoing throughout the year.
