As we welcome you and your daughter back to Term 4, we are entering an exciting and vibrant time of the school year. With the warmer weather settling in, we find ourselves enjoying longer days and the opportunity to get outdoors after school and work, making the most of the beautiful spring and summer months ahead. This term marks a unique period in the school calendar, a time where our school is at its busiest, with an atmosphere of energy, activity, and celebration.
Term 4 is a special time filled with opportunities to celebrate our students’ achievements. Whether it's in the classroom, on the sports field, or in creative pursuits, there are so many milestones to acknowledge. From awards ceremonies to class presentations, Year 6 Final assembly, representative carnivals and The Nativity and Family Barbeque, there is a great deal to be proud of as we reflect on the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. These events offer us the chance to come together as a school community, to share in the pride of what has been achieved, and to support one another as we continue to grow.
This term also invites us to pause and reflect on the year that has passed. It’s a time for students, teachers, and parents alike to look back at the growth and progress made, not just academically but personally as well. The resilience and perseverance shown by our students are worth acknowledging. They have embraced challenges, overcome obstacles, and adapted to changes along the way.
Parents, your role in this journey has been vital. Your support, encouragement, and involvement in your children’s education have helped shape their experiences this year. As we reflect, we also look for ways to continue supporting them in their learning and development.
While reflection is important, there is also a palpable sense of excitement as we look forward to what the next year will bring. Term 4 is a time of preparation for new opportunities, goals, and adventures. For students, this will mean transitioning to a new year level, tackling harder work, or setting fresh personal targets.
For our Year 6 students, this term marks the culmination of their Primary school education. It's a time of both celebration and anticipation as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of ‘The Big School - Year 7’.
As we move through the busyness of this term, it's essential to take moments to support one another. The pace may feel fast at times, and balancing end-of-year commitments with family life can be challenging. However, by staying connected as a school community, we can ensure that this time is both fulfilling and rewarding for everyone. That is why I ask you to familiarise yourself with the dates below so that you can diarise them.
Remember, this term is not just about finishing up, but about finishing strong. Let's continue to foster a positive, supportive environment for our students as they prepare for the final stretch of the year. Together, we can make this a term to remember.
Summer Uniform
A reminder that all students are now in their summer uniform and that means that the College bucket hat should always be worn during break time. Parents can also check that you have also named items of clothing, especially jumpers, PE gear, etc that are often taken off with the warmer weather and left lying around. If you have brought a second hand uniform please change the name to your daughter’s as it makes it easier to locate them.
Water
With the warmer weather please ensure your daughter has a water bottle packed for the day. It was very clear in the first two weeks of school that some students had not had a drink at all throughout the day and did not want to access the bubbler.
Learn To Swim
All students are required to wear PE gear next week for Learn to Swim and come to school with bathers on underneath. They must take with them to the pool a swimming bag, or the College navy sports bag or school bag and have a plastic bag for wet gear. A towel, a change of underwear and a swimming cap (not optional) are required with goggles as an option.
Parents are not permitted to attend the Learn to Swim sessions until Friday.
