Student Voice :                         HeightsCampus

We are already 4 weeks into the last term of school and so much has already happened. On Thursday the 24th of October, our School Leaders from both campuses went to the Children’s Forum along with some Grade 5’s that wish to be leaders next year. We had so much fun experiencing all the different workshops and meeting new people. We got to hear from some motivational speakers and learn how to be a ‘young change-maker.’

This week the MLC got new pets, stick insects! It has also been 3 weeks since the MLC got the rabbits. They named them Snowy, Oreo and Ginger. And the guinea pigs are called Tom and Jerry. They have thoroughly enjoyed taking care of them and especially holding and petting them.

Last Friday was World Teacher's Day. We celebrated by holding a special assembly especially for them! Each grade made a special book for their home group teacher to express how much they appreciate all their hard work.

The SLC softball and basketball team also competed and represented our school in the Interschool Sports Division. They practised so hard everyday, but they sadly lost. We are still very proud that they got into the division level and collaborated and showed great sportsmanship.

Last Tuesday, some MLC and SLC students from Heights Campus and the JLC students from Springvale Campus, went to the Town Hall to perform as a part of the Interfaith Gathering. Two students were invited on stage to play the didgeridoo. The 3 - 6 students danced to the song “Count On Me” by Bruno Mars. Miss P did all the choreography and gave so much effort to make this a wonderful dance. The students gave up their lunchtimes to practise the dance and tehy made sure the performance was THE best.

Last week, the SLC were rewarded with some cooking time. They made Yum-Yum Balls. They used biscuits, condensed milk, cocoa powder, and desiccated coconut. They said they were delicious and theyhope to make them again.

We hope you have an amazing Term 4 and remember to always wear your hat outside. Stay strong and smile.
