Snapshots from Heights Campus
The past fortnight has been filled with exciting events and opportunities for our students to grow and learn.
Last week the JLC students from Springvale Campus participated in the City of Greater Dandenong's ‘Interfaith School Gathering’ at the Springvale City Hall. This is a special event that is held every year, aimed at celebrating diversity and promoting understanding among different cultures and faiths within our community. They were joined by the SLC students from Heights Campus as well as representatives from several other schools who showcased different songs and dances. The day was filled with heartfelt messages and a wonderful sense of togetherness. Our JLC students closed the concert with their incredible performance of a song called ‘1000 Miles’. They received huge applause and lots of words of congratulations from the audience members as well as the event organisers. We would like to extend a special thank you go Miss Georgia Hammond and the other JLC teachers for helping to prepare the students for this event. They certainly made us proud!
On October 25th, we celebrated World Teachers' Day! This special occasion is a time to honour and appreciate the incredible work our teachers do every day to nurture the wellbeing, curiosity, creativity and a love of learning in all our students. To show our gratitude each teacher received a special gift - a book about them (made by the students) as well as a beautiful cupcake. The teachers were also treated to a delicious morning tea and a special assembly led by our student leaders. In the assembly the students taught the teachers the important lesson about what makes them great teachers. Events like this not only celebrate and acknowledge the teachers’ hard work and dedication but also teach students the importance of gratitude and the skill of showing their appreciation for the important people in their lives.
Last but not least, we would like to say Shubh Diwali to all our families that celebrate the Festival of Lights. We know that this is a special time of joy and togetherness and we hope you have a wonderful time celebrating with you loved ones.
Warm regards,
Mrs Mirela Karup
