Dance Showcase
The Dance Showcase is around the corner, and we are very excited for all dance groups to perform. Please read the below information about Tuesday's rehearsal and evening performance.
Rehearsals
Students will be required to wear their sports uniform on Tuesday for our rehearsals. Students will need to eat their lunch (or majority of their food) at recess time when at school, and they will eat a snack when we are at rehearsals. Please note: students will not be able to get lunch orders on this day as we will be off site.
Please remind your child to collect their snack, water bottle and dance shoes (if required) immediately at the end of recess on Tuesday. They will then go straight to the COLA to meet their dance teacher; students do not need to line up with their class when the bell goes.
Evening performance
Please see the below information regarding each dance groups' costuming requirements for the evening performance:
| Dance Group | Requirements |
| Lyrical | Hair: Please style hair in a low bun at the base of the neck. Hair should be parted in the centre and pulled tightly back so it does not fall out. Please ensure it is sprayed with hairspray and any loose bits are pinned down. Makeup: Foundation, mascara, blush, and a natural lipstick (please no bright red lipstick). Footwear: Optional foot thongs |
| Jazz | Hair: Slicked back high ponytail with a neutral coloured hair tie (brown or black). Makeup: Foundation or powder, dark/smokey eyes (brown eyeshadow), mascara and red lipstick (darker shade preferred) Footwear: Jazz shoes (no socks or tights under dance pants) |
| Freestyle | Hair: If your child has long hair, please style it into a low, neat ponytail. Hats will then be put over hair as part of the costume. Makeup: No makeup required. Footwear: black shoes will be sent home with the dance costume |
| K-Pop | Hair: Long hair - high pony tail, short hair - neatly styled Makeup: Optional makeup (foundation, mascara, blush, neutral coloured lipstick) Footwear: White shoes as part of costume |
| Stage 1 | Hair: Long hair - slicked back high pony tail, short hair - neatly styled Makeup: Optional makeup (foundation, mascara, blush, neutral coloured lipstick) Footwear: Jazz shoes |
| Stage 1 Chinese | Hair: Long hair - slicked back high pony tail, short hair - neatly styled Makeup: Optional makeup (foundation, mascara, blush, neutral coloured lipstick) Footwear: shoes will be sent home with the dance costume |
| Combined | No costuming or makeup requirements. Dancers will perform in their costume from earlier in the night. |
Students should only bring a small bag with a drink bottle and shoes (if required for their performance). No food is to be eaten while at the evening performance.
Students will need to arrive at Chatswood High School at 6pm. Students will need to be signed in with their groups' teachers. At the conclusion of the show, students will also need to be signed out by a parent or guardian.
