Thank You for Attending Our Art Show 2024
Dear Families,
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for attending our recent art show. It was a mammoth task bringing the show together, but it was truly rewarding to see the students beaming with pride as they showcased their artwork. With approximately 800 pieces on display, the event was a wonderful celebration of creativity.
This year, we were thrilled to highlight the remarkable artwork created by our students in Visual Art and the specialist areas of LOTE (Languages Other Than English), Discovery, and in the classroom. The artwork was displayed throughout the school, starting in the hall, moving to the Imaginarium and the MLA foyer, and concluding in the library.
The theme for the art show, ‘The Day the Crayons Came to SJW,’ inspired by Drew Daywalt's book- 'The Day the Crayons Came Home', allowed students to explore important themes such as making good choices, feelings, and taking ownership. The importance of the arts cannot be overstated; they help children develop communication and language skills, boost creativity, and enhance self-esteem. Additionally, the arts expose children to exciting topics like history, geography, math, science, and technology.
Thank you once again to all who joined us in celebrating the incredible talent and hard work of our students. I would also like to express my gratitude to the staff, students, and parents for making the show such a great success. Your continued support of our school and your child's arts education is greatly appreciated.
Warm regards,
Sincerely,
