MLA

MLA have been busy learning about diversity in prayer. Throughout October we have learnt about the Rosary and shared in the particular prayers involved, praying the Rosary together.

In Week 2, we were lucky to have some of our families join us in our open classroom to share in a range of prayer activities. Students and parents sat alongside each other and participated in a prayer activity of their choice. Some of the activities included making prayer beads, prayer cards, reading books, decorating items with symbols and words of prayer and scripture, while listening to quiet reflective music. Students have created their own handcrafted journal, and after each session they have recorded their reflections in their journal.

In Maths, we have been learning about fractions and decimals. Students have explored making fraction walls, identifying equivalent fractions and placing fractions on a number line. Below are some students work placing fractions on a number line, working in groups collaboratively and independently.

In Literacy, students have been hard at work interviews others and researching to write news reports about current events within our school. Students interviewed the SLA students about their camp experiences and wrote hybrid news articles to inform and persuade their audience about the value of school camps. Students are also currently writing reports about the art show and have recorded notes and quotes from their peers about the highlights of the show. Each student has reflected on a range of art works in the show and discussed the concepts or ideas within the pieces.
