Grade 3/4
In 3/4 this week we have been exploring narratives in literacy and have been working on making our own connections to the stories we read. We have been building our skills in our own narrative writing also and have been developing settings, characters and problems for our own realistic fiction stories. We’re looking forward to putting these skills together next week and writing our own detailed stories.
In Maths we have been exploring fractions of a whole. We have worked out the fractions of letters in our names and have started to convert fractions to percentages and decimals by playing one of our favourite games – Race to 1 metre!
In Integrated, our classrooms are beginning to look like factories as our Cardboard Arcade games are beginning to take shape. After learning about how different simple machines work, it has been wonderful to see the different ideas applied by the students as they build their games. We can’t wait to share them with everyone!
