Community &

Positive Environment

We hope everyone had a restful and rejuvenating break. Although Term 3 is one of the shorter terms in our school year, it promises to be one of the busiest and most exciting. With a range of activities, events, and learning opportunities planned, there’s no doubt that the weeks ahead will be full of energy and engagement for students and staff alike.

Family Cooking Club

Week 2 of the Term marked the exciting launch of our Family Cooking Club, run in partnership with Food bank,  and what a fantastic start it was!

We welcomed all 10 registered families, with 32 enthusiastic participants coming together to learn, cook, and connect. Our first session focused on preparing delicious rice paper rolls, while also learning essential kitchen skills like food hygiene and safe cutting techniques.

Thanks to our partnership with Foodbank, each family received a generous goodie box filled with fresh fruit, vegetables, and pantry staples—enough to prepare 2–3 healthy meals together during the week at home.

But what really made the session special was the sense of community. A huge thank you to the teachers and staff who popped in to chat, encourage, and connect with our families, Peta, Ian, Kristy, Leanne, Luke and Paw Ner Moo —it meant the world to them and added to the welcoming, supportive atmosphere.

The Family Cooking Club will continue for the next three weeks, and we can’t wait to see what else is stirred up in the kitchen!

Thank you again to everyone who helped make the first night a success, especially Foodbank and their team, Emma, Lesley and Ange.

All Abilities Sporting Excursion – A Celebration of Inclusion and Fun

On Wednesday 30th July, a group of our students had the opportunity to take part in the All Abilities Sporting Excursion at Eagle Stadium — a vibrant and inclusive event that brought together students from across the region to connect, move, and have fun through sport.

Guided and supported by Ms Beacher, and Support Staff, Sean, Christine, and Jen, our students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of activities, including netball, badminton, golf, walking football, dance, NRL, and pickleball. The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and new friendships, highlighting the power of sport to unite and empower.

It was a truly uplifting experience and a proud moment for our school community.

Celebrating Identity, Culture, and Pathways at Wyndham Central: WCC Schoolwide Sessions

This term, our school community is proud to come together for a series of vibrant and meaningful events that celebrate identity, diversity, and future pathways in our Tuesday session 6 Schoolwide lesson.

We began with NAIDOC Week, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through classroom activities, students engaged deeply with this year’s theme, reflecting on the importance of truth-telling, respect, and reconciliation.

As part of our commitment to supporting students’ aspirations, our Careers Program has continued to grow, with workshops, guest speakers, and pathway planning sessions helping students explore a broad range of options for their future.

Week 3 lessons celebrated our annual Multicultural Week, where we celebrate the rich cultural backgrounds that make up our school community. From music and performances to food tastings and cultural dress days, it's been a wonderful way to promote connection, understanding, and pride in who we are.

Year 8 Active Girls Lead the Way

Our Year 8 Active Girls group continues to demonstrate leadership, energy, and commitment to wellbeing through their ongoing participation in the Walk and Talk initiative. This week, the students were recognised for their efforts with a special certificate presentation, celebrating their consistent involvement and positive influence on their peers. The Walk and Talk program not only promotes physical activity but also encourages connection and mental wellbeing — values our Active Girls continue to champion each week with enthusiasm and pride.

Later in the term, the group will be rewarded with an exciting full-day excursion to Bounce and the Geelong Waterfront, recognising their ongoing dedication to the program and providing a fun opportunity to build even stronger connections.
