Book Parade and Dress Up Day!

On Friday, 22 August, our school came alive with colour, creativity, and stories during our Book Week Parade and Dress-Up Day. The effort students and families poured into costumes was nothing short of spectacular—transforming our school into a vibrant gallery of beloved book characters.

This year’s Book Week marks the 80th anniversary of this much-loved Australian tradition, themed "Book an Adventure"—a fitting celebration of how books can transport us anywhere, anytime, just by turning the page. Around the country, students donned costumes that honoured this idea, embodying characters old and new in a joyful nod to imagination and literacy.

Our parade captured that same spirit. Students paraded their carefully crafted costumes across the playground, cheered on by friends, teachers, and family. It was a heartwarming reminder of the power of stories.

Today the school was filled with creativity! Some people brought things from shops and some people made their costumes. My costume was a fox wearing a kimono. It was so much fun! - Zoe
