Dear students, families and staff of Cheltenham Primary School,
The theme of Book Week this year was "Book an Adventure", celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). This theme encouraged children to explore new worlds and stories through reading.
Our Book Week Parade was a truly wonderful celebration of reading and imagination. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm of all our students who embraced the activities throughout the week, and the incredible creativity on display in the parade itself. Staff, students (and their families) put such effort into their costumes, bringing favourite book characters to life in colourful and inventive ways. A very special thank you to Holly Smith for her outstanding organisation of the week’s activities and the parade, which was such a highlight for our school community. We also thank our PTFA for generously supporting the event with book prizes – their contribution helped make the celebrations even more memorable for our students. A highlight was when Holly Smith announced over $6000 in sales was generated by the Ashton Scholastic Book Fair. This was almost double last year's sales! The proceeds from your purchases will help us purchase new books for the school library.
Nude Food Wednesdays are back!
Each Wednesday we encourage students to bring a Nude Food lunch, which means food packed without disposable wrappers or single-use plastics. Choosing Nude Food helps reduce waste, care for our environment, and promote healthy eating. Simple swaps—like using reusable containers, drink bottles and snack boxes—make a big difference. Thank you to families for supporting this initiative led by our Environmental Leaders and helping our students learn how small changes can have a positive impact on our planet.

Synthi Eastern Court Update
Our installer will be returning to site tomorrow morning to complete the installation of the two no-charge zones on the eastern court. At the same time, the two sets of basketball towers will also be installed, with the temporary fencing adjusted as per our onsite discussion yesterday.
We anticipate that these works will be finalised before the end of the school day tomorrow, with the Eastern court ready for student use from Friday morning.
