WELCOME BACK!

Welcome back to another busy Term. Please check that you have received your Term 3 Fridge Calendar that was sent home last week. Feel free to contact Lee in the Front Office if yours has gone ‘missing!’

There are events currently being organised that are not on the calendar – we encourage you to add them with your child as you are informed via the class SeeSaw pages.

Late last term we were fortunate to have Martin Westwell, Chief Executive of Education in South Australia visit our school. I was very honoured and proud to showcase our school and share some of the wonderful learning that happens in our classrooms everyday!

Martin observed and interacted with some of our Reception/Year 1 students in their ‘Imagination Stations’. He saw them being creative, curious, collaborative and solving problems as they learnt through engaging hands-on activities.

He saw our amazing Interoception space and I shared with him the positive impact our focus on self-regulation has had on student behaviour and engagement over the past 6 years.

Martin also had the opportunity to observe and interact with some of our Year 5/6 students being Mathematicians and saw first-hand their focus on learning goals and using dispositions of being resilient and reflective and using problem solving to come to new understandings.

Martin was very impressed with all that he saw and commented on the wonderful oral language opportunities and engagement in the play-based learning with our youngest learners. He was blown away by the Maths learning and commented that this was one of the best lessons he has observed, due to the focused teaching, adult questioning, engagement by students and stretch for our learners – and he visits a lot of schools!

This is a credit and positive acknowledgement to all of our staff who come to work every day with the goal of making a difference for all of our learners!

We continue to embed, teach and acknowledge our High Behaviour Expectations linked with the school values. Please see our foci for this term. Students will be acknowledged for the current focus with double house points when we see students displaying them.
