Opera House Workshop & Performance:
Year 9 Drama and HSC Entertainment students recently embarked on an exciting journey to Sydney’s iconic Circular Quay. After a train ride and a picturesque walk around the sparkling harbour, they arrived at the Sydney Opera House for a day packed with creativity and inspiration.
Students took part in a hands-on Stage Design Workshop, where they explored the magic of theatrical production and brought their own imaginative set designs to life. As a special highlight, they were treated to a captivating performance of The Old Man with Enormous Wings—a visually stunning and thought-provoking show that left everyone in awe.
The gallery below shows some of the incredible stage designs created during the workshop!

Drama
Year 9 Drama students have had an exciting and enriching term focused on musical theatre. Through studying this dynamic genre, they have developed their vocal, acting, and movement skills, preparing to transition into collaborative group performance work. A highlight of the term was an unforgettable excursion to the iconic Sydney Opera House, where students experienced professional theatre firsthand and gained a deeper appreciation for live performance. Back at school, they participated in an engaging workshop led by Belvoir Theatre artists, which offered practical techniques and creative inspiration to enhance their drama practice.
As the term continues, students are eagerly preparing to embark on design projects, exploring areas such as costume, set design, and promotional materials. These projects will allow them to apply their creativity and technical skills in exciting new ways. Looking ahead to Week 6 in Term 4, which is our 2026, we are delighted to welcome Year 9 Drama into Year 10 and have Year 9 and a HSC Drama class, creating a vibrant and diverse drama community. This many year groups promises a dynamic learning environment full of opportunities for collaboration, growth, and artistic exploration. We are very excited about what the rest of the year holds for our drama students!
Music
Term 3 has been a busy time in Music with our year 7 and 8 students forming bands for their performance assessments. They have had the opportunity to learn and improve skills across a number of instruments while also building skills in working with others. Our year 9 and 10 students are preparing for their upcoming listening exams, training their ears and learning more about the intricacies of how music works. They have also completed original compositions, our year 9 students baring their souls with The Blues and year 10 students writing full-length songs from scratch. We are also very proud of our students who performed for our Mates and Mentors Breakfast, some of whom were singing on stage for the first time!
