Deputy Principal Report

Public Transport
Being respectful is one of the Evans High School values. Respect is the foundation of a strong and connected community, both inside and outside of school. We expect students act in a respectful and trustworthy manner at all times.
The community contact the school and let us know if they have been impacted by the behaviour of our students. This is especially the case for those who see our students at the bus stops and train stations. It is important that we remember to be respectful wherever we go, including when we use public transport.
Being respectful means simple, powerful actions: offering your seat to someone who needs it more, waiting your turn in line, using respectful language, and keeping noise levels down. It means treating staff with kindness and being courteous to members of the public. Being rushed and stressed is not an excuse for treating others poorly.
When we show respect for our shared spaces and the people in them, we create a sense of community. Our expectation is that Evans High School students using any form of public transport are on their best behaviour at all times; that they act respectfully and courteously, and make the trip to and from school a pleasant one for all.
