Principal Report

The end of Term 3 is always one of being bittersweet. The whole school comes together to send Year 12 onto the next part of their life’s journey after having watched them navigate their way through adolescence transitioning from childhood into adulthood. As their Year Adviser, Ms Hanlon, has been relentless in steering Year 12 through the good, the bad and even sometimes the ugly. She has done a fabulous job building a strong relationship with her students over the past six years.  Her attention to planning and detail has ensured an outstanding farewell which will finish with the formal after the HSC exams and sign out the next day.

At the same time, we also send our graduating students from the Intensive English Centre onto their new schools. Thank you to the team who put together an event celebrating culture and talent ending with the entire IEC, staff and students dancing and singing led by Ms Southern.  It was a wonderful celebration of the journey that these students have made during their time at our school.

As part of our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program – physical domain, we have been building our Evans Sporting Precinct. These holidays have enabled us to build our long jump pit and discus/shotput circle adding to the new volleyball courts to provide our talented sporting students with opportunities to build their skills.  We are hoping that our state-of-the-art gym will be completed by the end of the year adding another superior learning environment for our students.

A big reminder that in Week 6 of the coming term, students will move into the new academic year. For the first time, Year 10 students will join Year 11 and 12 as part of the Senior School.  This will allow us to build their capacity as to enter HSC pattern of study Week 6, Term 4 2026.  Years 7, 8 and 9 will make up the Middle School. Year 10 students will wear the senior uniform.

In addition, we will be introducing the Evans Scholarship for both Year 6 into 7 students and Year 10 into Year 11. There will be 5 scholarships for Middle School and two for Senior School. Students will be required to demonstrate their intellectual, creative, physical and leadership capacity in their applications.  The applications will be distributed to primary schools this year and to Year 10 students at school.

We wish our HSC students all the very best in their exams.  We encourage them to take advantage of our tutoring program to keep engaged and to prepare for their papers.
