Stage 3 Camp and Excursion
Last week, our Stage 3 students had the opportunity to go to Bathurst for a 3 day camp or an alternate excursion to Hyde Park Barracks and Sydney Museum. Both events support the Stage 3 History curriculum that students have learned about in the classroom. By all accounts, students really enjoyed the experiences.
Thank you to the teachers for their coordination of these events. Many hours of work were spent to organise these events so that student learning is supported beyond the classroom. A big 'shout out' to Mr Russo, Mrs Gonzales, Ms Savva, Mr Hu, Ms Marshall and Mr Pham who attended the Bathurst camp. Being 'on duty' for 3 days and 2 nights is no small feat! Thank you so much.
P&C Father's Day Stall
On behalf of our students and families, I would like to say "Thank you" to our P&C and the parent/carer volunteers for coordinating the Father's Day Stall. Our P&C have spent many hours ordering and coordinating the gifts so that our students have the opportunity to buy gifts for their fathers/uncles/grandfathers. Thank you on behalf of the St Johns Park PS community.
I hope all the 'dads' enjoyed their day.
A safety reminder about walking to and from school
Talk about the dangers you come across on your walking or riding with your child. Point them out such as vehicles coming out of driveways and show them how to be safe.
When on the footpath, at a crossing or in a car park always hold your child's hand up until they're 8 years old and closely supervise until they are 10.
Lead by example and choose a safe place to cross the road. Explain why it is the safest place to cross.
Your child watches everything you do, so if you cross at the crossing they will too. Put your mobile devices away and focus your attention on the surroundings. Be a responsible road user as children see every adult as a teacher and role model.
Talk about and practice STOP! one step back from the kerb. LOOK! continuously both ways. LISTEN! for the sounds of approaching traffic. THINK! whether it is safe to cross.
