News from Mrs Connors, Mr Gray and Mrs Whelan

Sports Star Visit

Last Friday our Year 3-6 students were extremely fortunate to be visited by Zali Ward. Zali is a women's hockey player who is a member of the Jillaroos program at the Victorian Institute of Sport. She was a member of the U21 National Championships, in 2022 where they won a gold medal. Zali spoke to the students about her career highlights, training regime, her journey to choosing hockey as a preferred sport and nutrition. Her presentation included clips and photos of her life as a striker representing Victoria and has no doubt inspired some of our students to chase their dreams.

Sporting Schools - Gymnastics

As part of the Sporting Schools Program, we will welcome back Gary from Moving Monkeys who will conduct daily gymnastic sessions from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th March. Each class will take part in four sessions throughout the week. To help the sessions run smoothly and in a timely fashion, students are asked to please leave jewellery items at home on these days. It is also recommended that no dresses/skirts are worn on these days (leggings, shorts, trackpants are preferred). Students with long hair are asked to arrive with hair tied back. All students are required to wear school uniform and to bring their lunch, snack and drink as per usual. The canteen will still operate for lunch orders on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Thank you in advance, Jackson.

Rochester Mural Art Exhibition

Friendly reminder to those students who purchased a canvas, these need to be returned to the school office by no later than Friday 14th March.

Thank you, Mrs Connors
